Why Browser-Based, and What You Lose
Velobet's mobile strategy is the same as a growing number of modern operators: invest in a high-quality responsive site rather than maintain separate native iOS and Android applications. There are real reasons for this choice, and real trade-offs.
What you gain by skipping the app:
- No download. Open Safari or Chrome, navigate to velobet.com, log in, and play. No app-store search, no install wait, no storage cost on your device.
- No app-store rules. Apple's App Store and Google Play both impose restrictions on real-money gambling apps that vary by region and have removed apps from operators in good standing for unrelated policy reasons. Browser-based access bypasses this entirely.
- Instant updates. When Velobet adds a new slot, a new live dealer table, or a new payment method, it's live on mobile the moment it ships on desktop. No "update available in the App Store" delay.
- Full game library. Native casino apps usually carry a subset of the desktop game library — common providers, common titles, with the long tail dropped for app-bundle size reasons. Browser-based means you get the full 8,900+ lobby on your phone.
What you lose:
- No push notifications. Native apps can push you bonus alerts, promo reminders, and live in-play opportunities. Browser sites can't (without granting site notification permissions, which most players reject).
- No icon on the home screen by default. You can manually add a bookmark icon — see below — but it doesn't behave exactly like an app launcher.
- Browser session reliance. Closing your browser tab logs you out of any unsaved game state. For long live-dealer sessions or in-progress slot bonus rounds, this can be mildly disruptive.
- No background processing. Native apps can run timers and reminders in the background. Browser-based can't.
